Drifting Away

Drifting Away, originally uploaded by robinrimbaud.

Let the monsters brew in the night, waiting to pounce whilst I sleep the sleep of true dreamers.
Silence on an internationally celebrated night, sleeping before midnight to ensure the ghosts don't slip under the sheets with me...

in the skies

Home and away
A week to find a new space, to breathe again
in the skies, by the sea, on land
Relieved after a health scare

All your embalming left you mortal, glazed, black, and hideously eternal

The day before the biopsy, the last moments before the blade cut through and excised. Now to wait for three weeks for test results and discover what lay beneath the skin.

Across the waterfront

Across the waterfront, originally uploaded by robinrimbaud.

Watching a world pass by, seemingly absorbed by the location, I question the delights and appeal of a mini paradise. Is this something to be shared, not experienced alone? Is contentment found in the reward of balance and exchange?

Robin Rimbaud

Debuting Githead in North America, we performed our 'farewell' show in a little barn outside of Brampton Canada, in front of around 20 invited guests. Veggie burgers, new friends and a short, sharp live set.
Fond memories indeed.

Anniversaire

A moment to reflect, backwards and forwards, of positivity and failings, of expectations unfulfilled and curtailed, of things to come, of things that have past, of what could have been, of what might be, of futures, pasts and present.

A day to disappear into others but spent with hope, yet regret, with celebration yet modest despair, of wanting too much and letting the water slip through the fingers.

A day to remember and a day to forget

Beginning to be mobile on this device. Leaving the house after 5 days of sickness & finding that the air on the skin feels different, moving through crowds when once there was only yourself. Then passing the dustbins to discover this amusing monkey waiting to greet me in the morning

I cannot but be sorry
The given shield was cracked,
My mind reduced to hurry,
My flesh reduced and wrecked.

I have to change the bed,
But catch myself instead

Stopped upright where I am
Hugging my body to me
As if to shield it from
The pains that will go through me,

As if hands were enough
To hold an avalanche off.

Empty Moments

Shall I say, I have gone at dusk through narrow streets
And watched the smoke that rises from the pipes
Of lonely men in shirt-sleeves, leaning out of windows? …

I should have been a pair of ragged claws
Scuttling across the floors of silent seas.
